Description
Class 7 of 12: Sculptural Foundations – The Koala & Teddy Bear
Embark on the next chapter of your artistic journey as you step into the second half of our 12-part mastery series. In this seventh installment, you will elevate your torch control by learning how to sculpt solid, dimensional figures. You will transition from manipulating single gather to managing a complex, two-part gather of molten glass.
This foundational technique serves as the structural gateway to shaping a vast world of animal forms. Under expert guidance, you will master the delicate balance of fusing separate gathers while shaping the endearing features of a glass koala or a classic teddy bear.
What You Will Master

- Dual-Gather Mechanics: Learn the coordination needed to heat, pull, and seamlessly fuse two distinct sections of molten glass into a single, cohesive figure.
- Gateway Sculpting Forms: Understand the core anatomical shapes that form the building blocks for countless other glass animal designs.
- Proportional Mass Distribution: Master the art of balancing hot glass to ensure your animal’s head, body, and limbs are perfectly proportioned.
- Delicate Feature Detailing: Use fine tweezers and graphite tools to press and sculpt expressive ears, paws, and facial features into cooling glass.
